Edith Olumide Agoye has told his players that the only secret to victory is to continue to work hard both at the training ground and on match day.The former Shooting Stars players told newsmen this evening at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium after his side lost 2-1 to Akwa United at the Nigeria Professional Football League matchday 22.
Bello Babatunde scored his first goal for the promise keepers at the first 14th minute after he unleashed a rocket shot past Ogundare Detan. The homers doubled the tally at the 69th minute courtesy of Naibe Akpesir.
The Oluyole Warriors kept on searching for a goal and the tally was reduce at the 80th minute through a solo finish by Chidera Eze.
"It wasn't a bad one, it was a spirited fight most especially in the second half. Normally when you're down with two goals, a lot believe it came to an end but for us the second goal was the beginning for us. It was a very good for one that we came back by scoring and we pushed Akwa United all the way until the end of the game but unfortunately we couldn't get the equalizing goal."
"It is always important for you to get as many points as possible in your games, we've been unable to do that so far at the second round but we'll continue to work very hard on the training ground and field of play during the game and definitely if we work hard enough, the situation will change."
Shooting Stars next league match is against Lobi Stars on Sunday, April 17th, at the Lekan Salami stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
