AITEO CUP: SAKI UNITED GETS .2MILLION NAIRA SUPPORT FROM PDP OYO NORTH SENETORIAL CANDIDATE

Amidst financial difficulties affecting 2022 Oyo state Aiteo Cup champions and representative at the National Aiteo Cup [Saki United], People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Senatorial Candidate in Oyo North Senatorial District, Hon Akinwale Solomon Akinwole has supported Saki United Football Club with a [0.2million naira] sum of N200.000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand Naira).
Recall that Saki United yesterday made thier debut at the Aiteo Cup by defeating Sokoto Professionals 2-0 at the rookies playoff held at Minna.
The management of the team Wednesday morning cried out for financial support and may return home any moment.
Wolekanle who is the chairman of Ogbomoso United Football club said he read about the challenges being faced by the club on social media and he decided to reach out to them so as to enable them continue in their game.
“As a club owner, I know how paucity of funds can dampen the morale of a flourishing team and I believe with support from people the feat is achievable.
“Saki united is our pride just like Ogbomoso United and other private clubs. We must do everything possible to ensure that the clubs do not go into extinction.”
All things being equal, Saki United are expected to honour Aiteo Cup round of 64 fixture against Nigeria Professional Football League relegated team, Katsina United on Sunday, July 31st, 2022.
