NTTF TECHNICAL & PLAYERS REPRESENTATIVES APPEALS TO NSC CHAIRMAN OVER ALLEGED ELECTION MANIPULATION
A fresh wave of controversy has rocked the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation (NTTF) ahead of its scheduled elections, as technical and players’ representatives have raised alarm over alleged plans to manipulate the electoral process.In a petition addressed to the Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Mr. Shehu Dikko, the group accused the current NTTF leadership of attempting to alter the long-standing electoral guidelines to favour certain interests.
According to the petition, received at the NSC office in Abuja on August 28, 2025, the leadership is allegedly planning to conduct the election in Lagos on September 10 without adhering to established procedures.
The petitioners stressed that NTTF elections have historically been conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner, with two approved representatives from each state and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) participating, based on authorization from state Sports Commission Chairmen or Directors of Sports.
They argued that any deviation from this practice would “undermine the credibility of the election and open the door for manipulation.”
The group, therefore, urged the NSC Chairman to urgently intervene by ensuring that:
