Adeyemi Football Club Head Club Emmanuel Kolawole Dare says his side is aiming to win the 2024 Federation Cup after a 2-0 win in their debut match.The darked skinned socccer tactican believes it will be an amazing achievement for his team to reach the federation cup final and win after a brilliant 2-0 win over Achievers Football Academy on matchday one of the Oyo State 2024 Federation Cup, organized by Oyo State Football Association.
Victor Okeleke opened the scoring at the 20th minute before Ali Ayuba sealed the win from the spot at the 49th minutes that earned them qualification to the second round.
With a place now secured in the second round, Emmanuel Kolawole, popularly known as Coach Drey, explained to OyoSportsNews while he's confident of reaching the final and winning the tilte in his first federation cup appearance.
"This is a competition we prepared very well, even as of yesterday, we are anticipating the match because we don't just want to participate, we want to make a statement by reaching the final and also winning the cup. We had solid preparation with series of friendlies and trainings."
"I'm happy we won, and I've achieved my aim, which is to start very well. We've been receiving supports from the club president (Karim Adeyemi, Nigerian German Borrusia Dortmund player) and when we told him about this competition, he gave us the backing."
"I'm not bothered by the big names in the competition, Shooting Stars, Crown FC, others might be a threats but as for me, the target is to reach the final stage and win it."
