Crown FC of Ogbomoso this evening at the Soun stadium maintained their top position on the Nigeria National League group B2 standings following a 2-0 win at home to Gateway United FC.
Sanni Nurudeen broke the deadlock for the homers in the 44th minute with a fine header in the box after Temitope Folarin's cross from the corner flag. The visitors had the chance to equalise immediately when Folalu Wasiu had a good chance but went off target.
Former Crown FC winger, Babatunde Damilare, who was introduced at the 46th minute for Gateway United gave good account of himself after creating many chabces, making moves but a tree doesnt make a forest for the short fast winger.
At the 66th minute, Sanni Nurudeen punished Lanre Ferinyaro's weakness at the right back with a curled grounder shot and the stadium erupted with an uncontrollable sound as the homers made it two.
The Ajilete Warriors sealed another three points at home and will on the road to thier familiar ground [Mobolaji Johnson Arena] on Monday against Tradesafe FC.
