Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso Supporters' Club Chairman, Pastor Dare Alao has urged his members, fans and football lovers in Ogbomoso to embrace peace, love and promote unity as the club host Gateway United of Abeokuta tomorrow at the Soun stadium.
Recall that the Crown FC were sanctioned and fined by the Nigeria National League last season over unruly behaviour and were asked to play three matches behind closed doors. Now that the club had been cleared to allow supporters, fans, and lovers back to their stands, Prophet Dare Alao, in an exclusive interview with OyoSportsNews via telephone call expressed readiness to curb crowd disorder and hooliganism.
"We regretted what happened last season against Ijebu United, we were unable to promote due to the attitude of the spectators. It was really painful. This season, we have mapped out strategies, and there is no going back on its implementation."
"We've had meetings with the security personnel, club management, and supporters' club. No supporter, fan, and spectator are allowed to leave their stands except for rest rooms and refreshments. There will be no movement at the football pitch barricade throughout the match, even after the regulation time."
"Everyone will be duly searched at the point of entry while alcohol contents are forbidden both inside and outside. The security officials have promised to work hand in hand with us starting from tomorrow's match. The people of Ogbomoso are loving and peaceful; Yes, we love football, but we are not law breakers, we have huge respect for law and order."
Prophet Dare Alao also thanked the Oyo State Football Association under HRM Oba James Odeniran for his unrelenting support for the club and eulogized the club chairman and enitre management for improving the welfare of the players since the commencement of the new season.
