PARA GAMES: OYO SPORTS BOSS CHARGES PARA ATHLETES TO GO FOR GLORY

Oyo State Sports Commissioner for Youth and Sports Miss Wasilat Adegoke has charged over one hundred Team Oyo Para Atheles to imporve more on their performance and go for glory ahead of the second edition of the National Para Games 2023 holding at the National Stadium, Abuja.The commissioner while addressing the para athletes before thier departure to the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja commended them for thier solid preparations and test competitions under the Acting General Manager of the Oyo State Sports Council Mr Tunde Ajibike.
She thanked the state governor, His Excellency, Engr Seyi Makinde for providing all necessary resources and support while assuring the contingents of Governor Seyi Makinde’s unwavering support and commitment to their welfare.
The contingents which consist of athletes, coaches, sport officers and other officials will participate at the 7-days tournament scheduled to hold in Abuja from 7th to 14th December, 2023.
The team will feature in para cycling, para athletics, para swimming, para canoeing, para karate, para powerlifting, para table tennis, wheelchair basketball, and wheelchair tennis.
Recall that the state prara athletes finished second on the medals table at the first edition held April 2022.
