Sanni Nurudeen scored twice to help Crown FC to maintain top position at the matchday three of the Nigeria National League 2023/24 season by beating Gateway United 2-0 at Soun stadium.
The young prolific winger, who renewed his contract at the end of NNL 2022 scored his first goal at the 44th minute after connecting well with Temitope Folarin's cross shortly before half-time and then sealed the three points for the Ajilete Warriors at the 66th with a grounder shot from the flank area.
Victory moved Raheem Tajudeen's side above other teams in the group B2 standings after picking nine points in three matches. [2-1 vs FC One Rocket, 2-1 vs Inter LagosFC and 2-0 vs Gateway United FC], and with another trip to Lagos on Monday, 11th of December against Tradesafe FC, Crown FC will be looking to consolidate and keep the momentum going with a possible three points.
"It was very hard. This is always one of the most difficult games of the season," Sanni Nurudeen told OyoSportsNews.
"We have to keep believing this season - there is a long way to go. We can only win our games, then rely on other things."
Osun United are unbeaten so far this season after two wins and Sanni Nurudeen, who was announced as the man of the match said the Ajilete Warriors are less concerned about other teams but focused on their targets to secure promotion.
"Surely, there must be contenders and pretenders but as for me and my team-mates, our target is to secure promotion and all our games one after the other. It will surely be a difficult season but no going back."
