TEAM OYO STILL FOCUSED ON WINNING MORE MEDALS - TUNDE AJIBIKE

After producing one of the best rides in cycling 10Kilometer Individual Time Trial (ITT) which was decided in sixteen minutes - eighteen seconds by Team Oyo athlete Ibrahim Ajibade that earned the pacesetter state a gold medal at the on-going National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta state. The enitre loving poeple of Oyo state have been reassured of better performance and medals before end of the annual sporting events.
Acting General Manager of Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Tunde Ajibike gave the reassurance in an interview with newsmen after Team Oyo grabbed another gold in Chess (classical) event that lasted for four hours. The quartet of Adepoju Ayomide, Sambo Joseph, Mufutau Waris and Odoola Fawas blown away Team Edo to win gold medal.
Mr Ajibike stated that the remaining athletes that are yet to compete at the on-going National Youth Games are still focused on more medals for Team Oyo despite having four days left to round off the 7th edition.
Ajibike believed that athletes who are still on course have been working hard to win more medals in Badminton, Volleyball, Swimming, Golf, Hockey, Basketball and Track and feild events.
He hinted that Team Oyo has also won bronze medal bronze in gymnastics. He's optimistic of more medals before Saturday.
"We are very hopeful and focused to win more medals before Saturday, we may have started slowly but I want to reassure our loving poeple of Oyo state, most especially His Excellency Engineer Seyi Makinde that our athletes will win more medals before the end of the events.
We have athletes competing in almost nine events, and we are on course." He reassured.
