Athletes from Oyo state for the 7th edition of National Youth Games this morning returned to light training after successfully passing the screening exercise held yesterday at the main bowl of Stephen Keshi stadium.167 athletes that will be participating in twenty events were screened yesterday by the Local Organising Committee while their coaches stood firmly with relevant documents.
Early this morning, both male and female athletes for hockey, handball, volleyball, Taekwondo, and tennis resumed light training at the Dennis Osadebe University.
OyoSportsNews gathered that technical meetings for different events will be held today at the indoor sports hall while guidelines, timetable, venues, for events will be released.
Meanwhile, the 7th National Youth Games Asaba 2023 will be declared opened today with the official opening ceremony and march-past at 1pm today. Executive Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Chief) Sheriff F. O. Oborevwori, (JP) and other directors from the federal ministry of sports development, National Sports Commission, Delta State Sports Commission are expected to grace the event.
