BASKETBALL: TEAM OYO OVERPOWER TEAM RIVERS, SET RECORD IN FEMALE FINAL

Oyo State female basketball athletes have reached the final at the ongoing 7th National Youth Games 'Asaba 2023'.
They overpowered Team Rivers 20-14 in the semi-final tie on Wednesday to seal their first ever final after winning silver medal at the 5th (Kwara 2019) edition held in Ilorin, Kwara state.
Team Oyo were unbeaten from the group stage beating Team Rivers, Team Bauchi, Team Niger, Team Bayelsa, and Team Plateau with 7-1, 9-2, 6-5, 4-2 and 13-3 respectively.
The state female basketball athletes were dominant at the semi-final tie starting from the first quarter. They went into the break with six points and continued thier dominance at the last quarter to win the tie.
Team Oyo will face host Team Delta at the final billed for tomorrow, Thursday 28th, September 2023.

On Sunday at the Southern Delta University pitch in Ozoro, the Oluyole Warriors fought back from a goal down to defeat Warri Wolves 2–1, their second consecutive victory after a shaky start to the season.
