The Pacesetter athletes flying the flag of Team Oyo at the 7th edition of the ongoing National Youth Games have achieved an enviable and outstanding feat by securing the third spot in Chess (girls) medals' table.
The final medals' table realsed by the National
Youth Chess Teams Championship (Girls) which was jointly signed by the Technical Director Durotoye Bode Alli, Secretary General Mrs Adeosun Adebowale and Chief Arbiter Akhiwu Ehidiamhen Eugene ranked Team Bayelsa 1st with five gold and one bronze.
Team Edo finished 2nd on the rankings with two gold, five silver, and one bronze medal. Team Oyo female athletes Daramola Michelle, Adepoju Anuoluwayimika, Adeyemi Ayomiposi, and Oyetunde Hannah under Coach Olabode Sofoluwe finished third with two gold and two bronze medals.
Team Oyo's triumph in the latest medals table marked a historic milestone, as they became the first south-west state to clinch top three in the female chess category.

Okikiola helped his side clinch her first ever federation cup title, scoring three goals in the three all draw, Ilaji FC emegerd champions 5-4 on penalties and will represent Oyo state at the National Federation Cup.
