OYO FA HONOURED ILAJI CHAIRMAN, CHIEF DOTUN SANUSI WITH GRAND PATRON AWARD

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Chief Engineer Dotun Sanusi has been conferred the honour of Grand Patron award of the Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA) in recognition of his sterling leadership qualities and immense contribution to the development of sports (football) in Oyo state and Nigeria at large.
Speaking at the grand finale of the 2023 Oyo State Federation Cup held at Olubadan stadium, Iyaganku Ibadan, the Chairman of the association, HRM Oba James Odeniran said the conferment is to express profound appreciation for the immeasurable support of Chief Engineer Dotun Sanusi to the association and for his noteworthy contributions to the growth of football in the country.
"We are highly delighted to honour you as the Grand Patron of our association, your contributions to the development of football and other sports in Oyo state and Nigeria can never be undermined. Your vision and mission with Ilaji Football Club are giving us joy in the state coupled with a series of football scouting programmes and coaching seminars. Apart from football, you have done tremendously well in boxing, volleyball, and other sports. On behalf of the executive members of Oyo FA, we sincerely appreciate your support and pray for God's guidance in your endeavours."
In his acceptance speech, Chief Engineer Dotun Sanusi appreciated the association for the honour. He encouraged football stakeholders in the state to continue to live in unity, as this is very important for the development of football.
“It is extremely an honour to be recognized, I want to thank all members of the association who deemed it fit to appreciate my little efforts with this award. I say thank you very much for finding me worthy of this position and by God's grace, we shall continue to make Oyo state the number one state among the rest."
At the grand final match, Shooting Stars emerged Champions after 1-0 win against Ilaji Football Club while Oyo Alaafin FC were 2-1 better than Iseyin Rocks FC in the third-place match. Shooting Stars and Ilaji FC will represent Oyo state at the National Federation Cup holding later this year.
