OGUN STATE GOVT REITERATES SUPPORT FOR GATEWAY UTD, SET TO UNVEIL LOC FOR NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL

The commissioner  for  youth  and  sports development in   Ogun  State, Dr. Oluwadare  Kehinde has expressed optimism that Gateway United FC will secure promotion back to the NPFL.
Dr. Kehinde, who spoke with newsmen recently on the performance of the team after defeating Crown FC 0-1 away from home in their NNL opening game described the team as a formidable set up that will deliver the best for the State.
"We  have a  formidable  team  and  good performance. To the best  of  my  knowledge, the team  is  improving  virtually every  time. We have put  up a  formidable  technical  team and improved players welfare- and we believe it will help the team to achieve its ultimate target" he said.
He revealed that the government has made concerted efforts at creating sporting activities in order to engage the youths,saying that the upgrade of infrastructure will all bear a socio-economic impact. 
The Commissioner stressed that the state is committed to hosting the next National Sports festival in 2024, adding that the local organising committee will soon be set up for the multi-sporting event.
"I want  to  assure  you  that  we will set up  the  local  organising  committee for the National Sports festival very soon. We also  want to engage all  the stakeholders  in  the  sport  sector  including the media so as to achieve huge success." he concluded
