DEJI AYENI DENIES RESIGNATION RUMOUR
Crown FC of Ogbomoso Technical Adviser, Ayodeji Ayeni has described as untrue, the stories making rounds that he has resigned his appointment prior to his team knockout match against Zion-Liberty FC at the Oyo State Federation Cup.
Ayeni took over the technical head of the Ogbomoso based team after he was unveiled on August 28, 2024 by the Oyo state government through the ministry of youth and sports under Honourable Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke at the Oyo state secretariat office.
Since his appointment as the technical adviser of the Ajilete Warriors, Ayeni has secured seven points on the road against [Igbajo United FC 0-1, Inter Lagos FC 0-0, and Smart City FC 0-1].
Crown FC currently occupied third position with fourteen (14] points behind Warri Wolves [16points] and Abia Comets [14points] on the Nigeria National league table.
Speaking to OyoSportsNews, the former Akwa United gaffer made the clarification on Wednesday afternoon shortly after his cruised to the semi-final of the state federation with a 1-0 win over Zion-Liberty FC.
He described the reports as untrue and false.
“It’s quite unfortunate that people just trigger something that is not correct. This news is not true. I never asked or sent anyone to speak on my behalf. The news flying up is negative to the team and my career."
"I have a project at hand, I can't afford to quit at this moment. We just came back from Lagos where we picked four points from possible six. The team is gradually gelling better and stories like this can affect the team’s emotional stability."
"As a professional football coach, I have a valid contract with the club. I was worried when I heard about reports. Whatever people are saying out there is not correct. I’m still very much in charge. I’m the Technical Adviser of Crown FC, saddled with the overall technical activities." He affirmed.
