In a letter signed by the association secretary Mr Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo which was made available to OyoSportsNews, the Oyo State Football Association is delighted to have fans back to the stadium after three matches behind closed doors. The letter further warned fans to control their emotions and to shun violence, hooliganism, and unruly behaviours to visiting teams and match officials.
The state football governing body further advised the management of the supporters' club to sensitise their members on why and how to stand behind thier darling club through thick and thin and most especially when the results are not coming as expected during any football match.
"The Oyo State Football Association is delighted that this weekend, fans and supporters will be back to their stands to see their club in action after three matches behind closed doors. We all know that the santions imposed by the NNL body hit them hard, but the lessons had been learnt, though in a hard way. It is important that the fans and supporters control thier anger no matter the situation during match, the management and the players know how important three points is for the team and in football, it is not over until it is over, so they need to keep on supporting them always and offer advise where needed. We all know throwing bottles and other harmful objects are prohibited, they must desist from this if truly they love the club wholeheartedly."
"The match officials know the law of the game more than many of the fans, it is thier job on the field to interpret actions and make decison. No fans or supporters should put law into his/her hands. It is highly prohibited and it is punishable. Crown FC is our baby as we always said, we wish them the best as the season continues." The statement read.
Crown FC comfortably sit on top the Nigeria National League group B2 with six points after 2-1 win over FC One Rocket and 2-1 win over International Lagos FC in Lagos last weekend. The Ajilete Warriors will host Gateway United FC on Saturday in matchday three at the Soun stadium. Time is at 4pm.
