There were plenty of hugs and smiles as the final whistle blew on Saturday evening and the manual scoreboard showed two goals - to one in favour of the Ajilete Warriors with maximum three points in the kitty, and none against the visitors, and it was also the first offical win for Coach Raheem Tajudeen of Crown Football Club at the Soun stadium.
Oluwaseyi Okeowo, who was instrumental for the Ogbomoso based side, opened the scoring with a fine header in the box after connecting well with Kamorudeen Ogunjobi's freekick in the 26th minute. The moment of joy and jubilation saw him with his teammates, and lastly, with the head coach.
Five minutes after taking the lead, Onotu Emmanuel restored parity with a grounder shot that crept in at the near post for FC One Rocket after capitalising on the mistake made by Kamorudeen Ogunjobi and Earsamus.
After making three substitutions at the second half, Crown FC began to search for a goal, creating chances, dominatig possession and it finally came at the death of the match from Akanni Rahmon, who slotted in a rebound in the 88th minute.
Speaking to the media after the match, Crown FC Head Coach Raheem Tajudeen rued missed chances but excited with his first official win.
"I'm very happy for the win against FC One Rocket. They gave us a good fight, but we surmounted it. We should have won with three to four goal margins, but my players are wasted today. It's a big worry, but I can assure everyone, most especially the fans that the team will get over it, going forward in our next match in Lagos."
"The players were jittery today, they were in haste to score and by that we wasted too much chances. Well3.ake correction where need and improve in our next match."
The Ajilete Warriors will be on the road next Saturday for thier Nigeria National League natchday two against International FC Lagos.
