The newly appointed general manager of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, Mr Olamide Ilupeju, was explicit about the club’s realistic target at the Nigeria National League which commenced last weekend across match venues. After watching his side to a 2-1 triumph over FC One Rocket on Saturday in the league opener, Olamide Ilupeju expects his team to attain the unprecedented achievement under his era.Olamide Ilupeju fondly called 'Ortega' in his playing days wants his team to be better in games and win matches as he set target to mount another title assault this season at the state federation cup and ultimately secure promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League.
Ortega believes achieving his targets with a significant state trophy will be the epitome of success in one of the most competitive football cultures in Oyo state in recent years coupled with a return to the elite league. He believed that with a highly invested squad, the team is ready to set the stage for intense matches and amazing wins.
Speaking exclusively to OyoSportsNews, Olamide Ilupeju said; "I met with the entire technical crew immediately I was appointed as the new General Manager, I made it known to them that the Governor and the Oyo State Sports Commissioner has set a target for us. Coincidentally, it was exactly my utmost target for the loving people of Ogbomoso. The target is straight forward and clear, we must do everything possible to win deliver both the Oyo FA cup and promoting ticket to NPFL. I know it won't come easy but we are ready to achieve it."
Olamide Ilupeju said further that he's determined to focus hard on the welfare of players and officials of the team, in order to ginger and motivate them for podium appearances both the national league and state level.
“It is important to prioritize the welfare of the players because without players there is no football. Thier monthly salaries, allowances, match bonues will be taken care off as and when due. I want the players to be happy and going into any matches."
Meanwhile, Crown FC will on Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena play International FC Lagos at the Nigeria National League matchday two. Time is at 1pm.
