ILAJI FC/SWIEQI UTD KICK-OFF COACHING EDUCATION IN GRAND STYLE

The management of Ilaji Football Club in conjunction with Swieqi United Football Club today commenced its annual summer Coaching Education and Scouting Program at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The yearly programme organized for grassroots football coaches in Nigeria is powered by the Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi and Swieqi United Football Club from Malta.
The event which was declared opened today, Wednesday, July 12, 2023 had numbers of dignitaries in attendance such as the permanent secretary of the Oyo State Ministry of Youth and Sports Mrs Olubukola Ajoke Oladipupo, Mr Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo, the secretary to the Oyo State Football Association, Mr Tunde Ajibike, Acting General Manager of Oyo State Sports Council, Mr Tunde Popoola, Director Sports and Training, Oyo State Sports Council, Okere Emmanuel - Zonal Coordinator Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty, Ibadan, Mr Nurudeen Babagbemi, Officer at the Federal Ministry of Yourh and Sports Development, Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Liberty, Ibadan and Mr Raheem Fatai from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mrs Olubukola Ajoke Oladipupo commended Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi for being a firm pillar for sports development in the state, adding that the coaching education and scouting program is another huge capacity building for grassroot coaches to develop thier careers.
Also speaking, Mr Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo who represented the state FA chairman, HRM James Odeniran also lauded the efforts of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort management after hosting the zonal elimination prior to the National Sports Festival, Oyo FA Elective Congress, Mini International Tournaments and participating at the state federation cup, Nation-wide League One and others sporting events.
In his remark, the Chief Operating Officer of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Prince Adesina Araoye welcomed the facilitators from Malta, participants, and also reiterated plans to enlarge the annual programme starting from next edition in the year 2024.
Delegations from Swieqi United Football Club are Dr Justin Fenech, who is the president and founder of Swieqi United FC, Billy Mock - the technical director, Pablo Doffo, the Head Coach of Senior Men's team, Claude Mattocks and Timothy Gingell.
Meanwhile, Ilaji FC defated Emiloju FC 4-3 in a keenly contested friendly match under the watchful eyes of the delegation from Malta.
The coaching education is expected to continue tomorrow at 9am at the mini conference hall while practical session will follow immediately at the football pitch.
