COACHING EDUCATION: OYO GOVT SHOWERS PRAISES ON ILAJI FC/SWIEQI UTD

Oyo state government under the leadership of Governor Seyi Abiodun Makinde has showered prasies on the management of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort over her support for sports development in the state and Nigeria.

In an address delivered by the permanent secretary of the Oyo state Youth and Sports, Mrs Olubukola Ajoke Oladipupo, she commended Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi for being a firm pillar for sports development in the state, adding that the coaching education and scouting program is another huge capacity building for grassroot coaches to develop thier careers.

"Across the world, sports has grown beyond mere physical activity or social recreational spectacle into a well developed major commercial industry with significant contribution to national growth and employment, an instrument of socialisation and a source of income to most countries of the world."

"Football generally plays a major role in enhancing the prestige and status of a country at the international level. It also helps in the process of national integration, youth empowerment, job creation and foreign direct investment through professional sports."

"Football is now competitive and dedicated persons in its conduct, so that the programmes designed can be well interpreted in practical terms and the aims and objectives, strategically pursued and realised. These can only be achieved through good knowledge of the coaching techniques which I believe is in line with the purpose of this important coaching education."

"At this juncture, I would like to acknowledge the concern and commitment of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde for his contributions towards the development of our darling Shooting Stars and Crown FC. Also, I must also commend the management of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort under the Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Chief Dotun Sanusi for putting this great program together for the benefits of all football coaches. We are happy to associate ourselves with this beautiful initiative thay will equip sports personnel and also avail the lucky players, the opportunities to excel in their chosen career."

Responding, Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort Chief Operating Officer, Prince Adesina Araoye thanked the permanent secretary, Mrs Olubukola Ajoke Oladipupo for honouring the invitation and her keen interest inspite ofbthe shortest notice.

Mrs Olubukola Ajoke Oladipupo was thereafter presented Swieqi United Football Club Jersey by the club president and founder, Dr Justin Fenech.
