A 75th minute winner from Seye Adegbite saw Crown FC secure a place in the Oyo State Federation Cup semi final with a 1-0 victory over Zion-Liberty FC. The striker smashed home a low strike from a build up from the edge of the box to win the knockout match at Olubadan stadium and grab a place in the semi final for a first time in four years after crashing out last year to Ilaji FC at Durbar stadium, Oyo. Crown FC of Ogbomoso Technical Adviser, Ayodeji Ayeni has described as untrue, the stories making rounds that he has resigned his appointment prior to his team knockout match against Zion-Liberty FC at the Oyo State Federation Cup. Ayeni took over the technical head of the Ogbomoso based team after he was unveiled on August 28, 2024 by the Oyo state government through the ministry of youth and sports under Honourable Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke at the Oyo state secretariat office.
