ILAJI GOLDEN CUP POSTPONED, ORGANIZERS CITED SCHEDULING ISSUES

The organizers of the maiden edition of 2022 Ilaji Golden Cup have now decided to postpone this year’s tournament. OyoSportsNews relaibly gathered.
In a statement made available to OyoSportsNews by Ilaji FC Manager and Head Coach Babatunde Odubola fondly called 'Ziko' confirmed the management decision. The statement said the postponement was due to last-minute unforeseen hitches, and the shift is to enable them have a smooth football event.
According to the statement, sales of registration forms, dates for draws and official kick-off has also been put on hold, as a new date will be communicated later.
"We sincerely apologize to all interested teams, football club owners and administrators due to the postponement of the competition. This is done to ensure we have a good start and well organized finale throughout the competition. We have successfully hosted many football competitions, teams, countries at Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resorts and Ilaji Golden Cup will still go ahead but we need to reschedule our activities as we get closer to December. There are lots of activities line-up at the resorts apart from the sports department and this may affect our plans and arrangements"
"Sales of registration forms are temporarily suspended at the moment and new date will be communicated later. We (Management of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resorts) sincerely appreciate those that have shown interest while other necessary information will be communicated soon." He statement read.
