AWENI MEMORIAL FOOTBALL COMPETITION KICKS OFF IN KAJOLA LG

The maiden edition and much-awaited Seven-a-side Aweni Memorial Football Competition will kick off tomorrow at the football pitch of Second Baptist School, Ogan along Okeho - Ilero road under Kajola Local Government.
The opening match is scheduled to hold tomorrow with Elero FC from Ilero facing Novas FC of Okeho at 4:00 pm while Eminent FC of Ayetoro will lock horns with Gbebe FC of Isem-ile on Thursday at the same venue by 4:00 pm.
Golden Super Stars from Okeho will be at home to Greater Tomorrow on Friday to set a two day rest for all teams ahead Monday's fixture between Young Stars, Okeho and United FC, Okeho. On Tuesday, Galaxy FC, Okeho will confront Elero FC while Liberty FC will host Eminent FC on Wednesday.
OyoSportsNews gathered that no fewer than twelve teams registered for this maiden edition with teams from Okeho, Ilero, Ayetoro and Isem-ile on the registered.
Speaking at the draw ceremony held last week in Onile Sports Center, Kisanija compound, Ogan - Okeho, Leader of Nigeria Coaches Association, Kajola Chapter who also doubled as member of Saki Zonal Football Association, Oke-Ogun, Mr Rafiu Kabiru Adekunle fondly called 'Coach Onile' tasked the teams to always obey the rules and regulations guiding the game.
He said this first edition is aimed to reawake the body, soul and spirit of sons and daughters of Kajola Local Government and Oke-Ogun as they aim and it hope to secure sponsorship deal with private individuals, local industries and local government. He, however, warned that any team and player that causes trouble will be sanctioned accordingly.
“My advice for all the participating teams is to exhibit the spirit of sportsmanship throughout the tournament because we want the best two teams to be in the final and give us a befitting final” he said.
Oyo State Football Association (OYSFA) Vice Chairman, Comrade Isaac Olawale Ayangbile said the association is pleased to see another football competition in Kajola local government and will do everything humanly possible to make it a success. He promised the first edition will be better organized.
