NNL21 First Round: When Shooting Stars Amazed and Went 8 Undefeated || Scorecard || Achievement

In Nigeria football history, particularly for those that follow the second tier of the league, one thing that comes to mind is the promotion ticket to the elite league. It has also always been a battle between clubs both pretenders and contenders for promotion tickets.

One particular club that has lost her glory amongst her contemporaries is Shooting Stars of Ibadan. The Ibadan based side have lost two chances to secure promotion ticket back to the Nigeria Professional Football League. The first was a shocking defeat to Akwa Starlet at the playoff in 2018/2019 while the second campaign 2019/2020 was cancelled due to Covid-19.

At the Nigeria National League group B1, there have been many contenders but none have come close to Shooting Stars' magnificent performance and achievement of going eight matches undefeated.
