In a bold move to build a formidable squad for the upcoming women's football leaguem season, Oyo State’s newly unveiled female football club, Pacesetter Queens FC, has announced a 10-day open football trial for female players across the country.
The trials, scheduled to hold from Wednesday, August 13th to Friday 22nd, 2025, will take place at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, with daily activities kicking off at 8:00 a.m.
According to the club’s management, the trials are open to professional and mature female players, both within and outside Oyo State, and participation is completely free.
This latest development follows the club’s official unveiling last month by the Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Alhaja Wasilat Adefemi Adegoke. The Commissioner had, during the launch, emphasized the government’s commitment to women’s development in sports and its determination to elevate female football to a competitive standard in the state and beyond.
Speaking on the upcoming trials, a club official said:
"Pacesetter Queens FC is not just a club; it’s a vision. We are scouting for young, talented, and committed players who will help us make a statement in Nigerian female football. Our goal is to build a team that Oyo State and the nation will be proud of."
The open trial marks a critical step in the club’s preparation for its debut campaign in the women's league, and it is expected to draw talented female footballers from various regions eager to prove their worth and secure a spot in the squad.
From what i read, there’s no accommodations for any players coming from outside the state.
