Shooting Stars Sporting Director, Adepoju Tobi Samuel, popularly known as “Oga Nla Media”, has laid down a firm stance on discipline, warning that any player caught engaging in betting activities will be shown the exit door without hesitation.
Adepoju, in a chat with OyoSportsNews, emphasized that part of the professional contract signed by every player before the season explicitly forbids betting, describing it as a direct violation of the club’s ethics and the Nigeria Football League regulations. He stressed that offenders will face immediate termination, as the integrity of the game must be protected at all costs.
The Sporting Director also cautioned against acts of extortion within the coaching setup, particularly coaches who exploit players in exchange for matchday selection or other benefits. According to him, any coach found guilty after due investigation will be exposed, queried, and dismissed.
Beyond his firm disciplinary measures, Adepoju has been widely commended for his tireless contributions to the growth of Shooting Stars, particularly in talent recruitment and professional player management. His hands-on approach to ensuring players sign proper contracts and his commitment to safeguarding the club’s values have played a vital role in strengthening the Oluyole Warriors’ structure both on and off the pitch.
Meanwhile, Shooting Stars, who suffered a 0-1 defeat to Bayelsa United in their opening fixture, bounced back to secure a 1-1 draw against Bendel Insurance in Benin on Matchday two. The Oluyole Warriors will next host Ikorodu City at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba, Ibadan, in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.
