Technical Adviser of Crown Football Club, Alexander Ayodeji Ayeni, remains confident in his team’s promotion target despite a narrow 1-0 loss to Kun Khalifat FC on Saturday afternoon in the Nigeria National League Super 8 promotion play-off.The match played at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba on Saturday, 5th of July, saw Kun Khalifat FC edge past the Ajilete Warriors in a tightly contested encounter.
Speaking to newsmen after the game, Coach Ayeni sounded confident in his team's ability to bounce back from the defeat and insisted it would not derail their target to secure, promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
"As you can see, it is a marathon. It's not yet over for any team. Our first match doesn't determine the league and ambition. We can go ahead and win the next two matches."
Asked if anything went wrong during the course of the match with his team; Ayeni replied.
"Nothing went wrong today. We are in possession throughout the game. We are the dominant through the 90 minutes. Momentarily, loss of concentration caused the penalty, and aside from that, we are in control."
On what to do for the team to bounce back from the defeat, Ayeni replied:
"Definitely, we will bounce back for sure. We want to watch the next match, then we see tactically, technically, discipline wise; then we come home positively to have our desire result."
Crown FC will face Osun United, 4pm on Monday in thier second match at the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba.
