AKINYELE LG BOSS HONOURED AS LIFE PATRON OF OYOKUN DIPLOMATIC FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

The Chairman of Akinyele Local Government, Honourable Wole Akinleye, has been conferred with the prestigious title of Life Patron of the Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship.
The honour was bestowed upon him during the Season 8 edition of the championship, tagged “Oyokun Day,” held at Orbis Oxygen along Moniya Road in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to the organisers, Hon. Akinleye was selected in recognition of his unwavering passion, commitment, and consistent support for the success of the tournament since its inception.
Receiving the award, Hon. Akinleye highlighted the importance of physical exercise and praised the positive impact the championship has had on communities within Akinyele Local Government.
He also reaffirmed his commitment to the continuous growth of the event and expressed gratitude to the organisers for the honour.

The Oluyole Warriors, after their qualification to round 32 early this morning without kicking the ball, following the refusal of Zamfara United FC to show up for the round of 64 fixture at the Area 3 field, Abuja have been expelled from the oldest football competition in Nigeria. In a letter signed by the director for competition, Ruth David, on behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary. Five players who were not registered with the Nigeria Football Federation for this year edition were fielded in today's match against Zamfara United.
