GATEWAY GAMES: TEAM OYO GRABS 10 MEDALS IN WEIGHTLIFTING, 6 IN TAEKWONDO

Folashade Rufiat Lawal, a highly decorated athlete in his own right, has demonstrated what it takes to lead by example after winning three gold medals for Oyo state in Weightlifting Women 59kg.
The Two-time African Games gold medallist and reigning Commonwealth Games champion continued her golden streak in the 59kg category with 3 gold medals in Snash, Clean and Jack and Total, showcasing her commitment to the pace setters' state and her ability to inspire success.
As a athlete and Team Oyo captain, she has secured another hat-trick of gold medals after her impressive performance at Edo 2022. 
Following suit was Mary Taiwo Osijo who was the star of the 87kg division with another triple-gold performance, dominating her weight class from start to finish (three gold medals).
In another women's event, Liadi Taiwo narrowly lost to her counterpart in 81kg to win three silver medals. For the men's category, Tobi Ishola won a silver and bronze in 55kg while Ekah Mary grabbed a hat-trick bronze medal in weightlifting 76kg.
 In Darts 501 women's doubles, Williams Grace and Husaain Bukola secured a gold medal while Hauwau Alayode delivered a gold in Taekwondo women's featherweight event. Modinat Shitti also claimed a gold medal in women's 65kg Kungfu Shanshou category.
On Thursday morning, Adeyemi Saheed and Alao Adedolapo won a gold medal and bronze respectively in Darts while Kung fu event has given Oyo state a silver medal courtesy of 
Usman Mariam 70kg.
