₦28 Million Generated, Club Ranks Second on the NPFL Log
It has been 100 eventful days since Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami assumed office as the Executive Chairman of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC), and the transformation within the Oluyole Warriors has been nothing short of remarkable.
Despite a challenging start to the season, the club has experienced a significant resurgence, with commendable growth in matchday revenues, improved fan engagement, and enhanced operational efficiency; all of which underscore a new era of accountability and progress for the iconic Ibadan-based team.
According to findings by OyoSportsNews, Shooting Stars have generated over ₦25 million from ticket sales across VVIP, VIP, and regular categories; a feat never before achieved in the club’s history. Notably, this figure surpasses the ₦24 million total revenue recorded in 16 league matches last season under previous administrations.
In addition, the club has realized more than ₦5 million from merchandise sales, including jerseys (home, away, and alternate), branded mugs, key rings, face towels, and season tickets, all housed under the innovative “Merchandise Box” initiative. This development reflects a renewed marketing strategy that is driving both brand identity and fan loyalty.
On the sporting front, the team’s improved performance under Coach Nurudeen Aweroro has reignited optimism among supporters. Following early setbacks against Bayelsa United and Rivers United, the Oluyole Warriors have gone five matches unbeaten; securing three victories and two draws; to climb to second place on the NPFL26 standings.
The club’s management has also shown commendable commitment to safety and orderliness at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, with renewed sensitization of fans on the consequences of unruly behaviour and football hooliganism.
This transformation has been made possible through the unwavering support of His Excellency, Engineer Seyi Makinde, Executive Governor of Oyo State, whose continuous investment in sports development and confidence in the club’s leadership continue to yield positive results.
Massive commendation also goes to the Shooting Stars Executive Chairman, Honourable Taiwo Lekan-Salami, and other key stakeholders for their visionary leadership, transparency, and dedication to restoring the club’s glory days.
With the current trajectory, fans and stakeholders can once again dream of continental football returning to Ibadan; a testament to what deliberate leadership and genuine passion for the game can achieve.
