NNL SUPER 8: AYENI DECLARES READINESS, CALLS ON OYO GOVT FOR ADEQUATE FUNDING

The Technical Adviser of Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso, Coach Alexander Ayodeji Ayeni, has announced his team readiness to compete at the fast approaching Nigeria National League Super 8 play-off, billed to start on the 5th of July to 12th, 2025.
Recall that Chiarman, Nigeria National League, Mr George Aluo stated last Saturday that Stephen Keshi International stadium in Delta State will host the 2024/25 Super 8 promotion play-offs, after a successful regular season.
Coach Ayeni, while speaking to OyoSportsNews after Thursday training season ahead of their trip to Asaba, Delta state declared his team readiness for the competition.
Crown FC finished second behind Warri Wolves on Conference A standings with 36 points after an impressive home unbeaten run with three away wins and two draws. The Ajilete Warriors will compete alongside Osun United, Kun Khalifat, and Warri Wolves at the Southern group in Asaba.
Ayeni expressed confidence in his team’s readiness and emphasised the importance of maintaining focus and commitment to achieve success at the Super 8.
"After three days break, we are back to business. The players know the importance of the competition ahead, and we are leaving no stone unturned to achieve success. "
The former Akwa United gaffer also called on the Oyo state governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, for more adequate funding as the Super 8 is fast approaching. He lauded the effort made by "Omitun 2.0" agenda in repositioning sports and provision of sports facilities in the state. He believed Crown FC's success will be an addition to the governor’s scorecard.
"I want to beg and implore the government of Oyo state, If there is a time they needed to rally round this team, this is the time. If there is a time, Governor Seyi Makinde needs to break another record for himself. This is the time."
"If there is time any ogbomoso indigene, the sons and daughter of Ogbomoso that they are well broad and well financial capable, this is the time the team needs support of everybody. it’s a collective responsibility. They need to support the team morally, spiritually, physically, and financially."
OyoSportsNews gathered that the Ajilete Warriors will travel next week to Asaba, Delta state for the Super 8 play-off as they vie for the ticket to the Nigeria Professional Football League.
