18 TEAMS VIE FOR 2025 IBADAN INTERNATIONAL POLO TOURNAMENT, AS ORGANISERS ASSURE OF MAXIMUM SECURITY

All is set for the 95th edition of the 2025 NPA/Shoreline Ibadan International Polo Tournament sponsored by Shoreline Energy International and other partners such as Bluechip Technologies, IHS Towers of Strength, MTN, Macadams, Lead City University/Microfinance Bank, Red Couch Limited, Alina Group, 7up and other notable companies.

The 2025 edition, scheduled to gallop off on June 9, 2025 with a record 18 teams jostling for top honours in different major prizes and subsidiary laurels will have top polo players outside Nigeria and across the nation.
At the press conference held at Ibadan Polo Club Ground, Eleyele Road, Ibadan. Tournament chairman, Abimbola Adeyemi said the 7-day event will have ten away teams and eight home teams, participating for lower cup category [Ade Alakija Memorial Cup], [Rotimi Cup +3 to +7], and [Shoreline Cup].
"This year edition promises to be exciting, we have chosen June and we hope for good weather. Every game promises to be a hit, sponsorship are really good, things are looking better both off and on the field. The Ibadan Cup is an unfinished business, a team had to throw in the towel last year, this year will be highly intesrsting."
"We have a couple on new entrants from Port Harcourt, Katsina, Lagos and Ibadan. It promises to be a 7-day of fun both on and off the field."
Abimbola Adeyemi also assured participants, spectators of maximum security and standard medical facilities with provision of three well-equipped ambulances. He commended the headline sponsor, Shoreline Energy International (Shoreline), a leading industrial group focused on energy and power investments in Sub Saharan Africa and other sponsors for their contributions to the growth of the Polo in Oyo state.
Also speaking to newsmen, Entertainment Secretary, Mr Fela Yomi-Layinka assured lovers of the oldest competitive sport in Nigeria of premium entertainment corner on daily basis where live bands, DJ, karaoke and many entertainment session will be done to spice up the tournament.

In a letter signed by the director for competition, Ruth David, on behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary. Five players who were not registered with the Nigeria Football Federation for this year edition were fielded in today's match against Zamfara United. AA AZTEC FOOTBALL ACADEMY STORMS PORTUGAL FOR A MONTH SCOUTING PROGRAMME

The delegation made up of 10 players and three officials left the shores of Nigeria via a flight from the international wing of the Muritala Mohammad Airport on Tuesday for Lisbon. Prince Ademola Olawepo Shennowo, President of the fast-growing football academy gave an insight into the programme details.  "The scouting program in Portugal is tagged Club Athlectico Trial and it will run for one month. "Our technical coaching staff have selected the best for the programme after the 10 talents had undergone intense training to develop their football skills and prepare them for the highest level in games and tournaments against other top football academies in and out of Ibadan." OyoSportsNews can exclusively confirmed that Iseyin United have forfeited thier victory over the Asabari Warriors for fielding ineligible player, resulting from passport photograph alteration. In its ruling on Saturday afternoon, after thorough investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the 2024 Oyo State Jubril Dotun Sanusi Football League, set up by the Oyo State Football Association. The committee has awarded victory to Saki United FC. The Asabari Warriors will now face FC Young Stars International at the final while Iseyin United will face A.A Aztec for the third place match on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran Ibadan.
