OYO FA ROLLS OUT PLAN FOR 2024 STATE FEDERATION CUP

The Oyo State Football Association, [OYSFA], has rolled out its action plan for the 2024 Oyo State Federation Cup.The Association's Secretary, Mr Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo, revealed this in a communique made available to OyoSportsNews shortly after the executive members held it first meeting in year 2024 at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Ibadan.
The association was quick to express heartfelt appreciation to the State Government under the leadership of His Excellency, Engineer Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde for prompt release of fund to the two State owned clubs (ShootingStars [3SC], Ibadan and Crown Football Club, Ogbomoso) since he assumed office and the increment of 3SC subvention since November, 2023 for the club to perform creditably well in the League.
The executive board also extended their
heartfelt appreciation to Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Hon. Wasilat Adegoke and commended her contributions towards the development and promotion of sports in the state.
According to the association through the communique, it was resolved that 2024 Oyo State Federation Cup matches will be played on neutral grounds while Semi-Finals and Final will be played at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.
In pursuance of improve grassroots football, promote and develop the round leather game in the state, the executive board members also resolved to have the Data base of Nigeria Football Coaches Association (Oyo State Chapter) and Oyo State Football Referees’ Council.
As deliberated at the elective congress held last year (2023) at Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort. The association has agreed to have a formidable team that will be representing the state in under-age competitions. The association resolved that the Oyo State U-17 League will be held and cut across nooks and crannies of the state.
For the first time in Oyo state, Inter Local Football Council Under–15 Football Competitions has been resolved to hold. The communique added that each Local Football Council would register one team each while Ibadan Football Council had an advantage of two teams. According to the association, registered teams shall converge at Olubadan stadium during the second term holiday while Under–13 football competition will be held during the long vacation.
The executive members, thereafter, reinstated its support for the Oyo State Football Association led by HRH. Oba James Oluyemi Odeniran and promised to continue contributing its quota to the development of football in the state and enjoined the Management of the two State Owned Clubs (3SC and Crown FC) to improve their mettle in taking the two Clubs to greater heights
