The Oyo State Football Association has charged the players of Shooting Stars and Kwara United to recapture their winning mentality when both teams face Remo Stars and Enyimba International respectively in thier next Nigeria Premier League fixrures.
Shooting Stars are yet to secure a win after two matches following a three all draw against Plateau United and goalless result against Kwara United. And the Oluyole Warriors will be on the road to Ikenne this Wednesday for a rescheduled South West derby fixture against Remo Stars.
Kwara United, who currently used Lekan Salami stadium, Ibadan as thier temporal home ground had also failed to grab maximum points in three matches. The Harmony Boys drew at home to Gombe United in their league opener and also lost 1-0 to Bendel Insurance on Sunday in Ibadan.
Speaking on Sunday evening shortly after Kwara United home loss in Ibadan. The association secretary, Mr Kehinde Ojelowo who spoke to OyoSportsNews on behalf of the Chairman, HRM Oba James Odeniran thus charged the players to go all out for victories in thier next respective matches to further boost their confidence and change thier positions on the NPFL Standings.
“It has not being too good for our darling Shooting Stars since the start of the new season. Many may believe it is too early to worry about but I want people to know that an abridge league is not a respecter of any team - so, we have to make hay while the sun shines. We must get all necessary points both home and away as soon as possible, the players must change thier mentality right now and ensure we are save on the log. The target is to qualify for the super six and get continental ticket, it is very possible, I'm optimistic."
Kehinde Ojelowo who also doubles as the Director for Organisations at the Oyo State Sports Council also shown his concern on Kwara United recent results which has definitely put them on a dangerous position on the log.
"I'm also charging Kwara United players to put up their best in Aba against Enyimba FC International. It would be good for them to win away from home so as to boost thier morale, regain thier confidence and return to winning ways. The players must be ready for every seconds and minutes against Enyimba. They have lost at home and dropped five points already, many teams have won on away grounds, - so it is absolutely possible to get a win in Aba."
Ojelowo also siezed the opportunity to call on teeeming fans and supporters to give maximum' support in all home fixtures as thier presence will also gear the team to success.
"The state government had done very well by upgrading the stadium to international standard, we want maximum support for the two teams by filling up the stands. This will encourage government, individuals, companies, sponsors and industries to partner and come into sports. I also believe it will also improve the performance of the players.
