GOV. SEYI MAKINDE LAUDS TEAM OYO ATHLETES

Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has acknowledged the state’s contingent to the 21st National Sports Festival, which ended in Asaba, Delta State, last year December.
Governor Makinde while answering questions from members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter said the government and people of Oyo State were exceedingly proud of the spectacular performance of the state’s athletes at the festival.
He siad, "I acknowledged the athletes that represented the state at the National Sports Festival, for the first time - we did better than Lagos state and other South West states, it was a major breakthrough and testimony that money spent on Lekan Salami Stadium gave Shooting Stars promotion to elite league because we met them in relegation."
He added: "It also means that our facilties across zones are yielding desired results and we can only do better."

AA AZTEC FOOTBALL ACADEMY STORMS PORTUGAL FOR A MONTH SCOUTING PROGRAMME

The delegation made up of 10 players and three officials left the shores of Nigeria via a flight from the international wing of the Muritala Mohammad Airport on Tuesday for Lisbon. Prince Ademola Olawepo Shennowo, President of the fast-growing football academy gave an insight into the programme details.  "The scouting program in Portugal is tagged Club Athlectico Trial and it will run for one month. "Our technical coaching staff have selected the best for the programme after the 10 talents had undergone intense training to develop their football skills and prepare them for the highest level in games and tournaments against other top football academies in and out of Ibadan." OyoSportsNews can exclusively confirmed that Iseyin United have forfeited thier victory over the Asabari Warriors for fielding ineligible player, resulting from passport photograph alteration. In its ruling on Saturday afternoon, after thorough investigation by the Disciplinary Committee of the 2024 Oyo State Jubril Dotun Sanusi Football League, set up by the Oyo State Football Association. The committee has awarded victory to Saki United FC. The Asabari Warriors will now face FC Young Stars International at the final while Iseyin United will face A.A Aztec for the third place match on Thursday, December 19, 2024 at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Akanran Ibadan.
