EXCITEMENT AS OYO FA ROLLS OUT PLANS FOR ENGR DOTUN SANUSI FOOTBALL LEAGUE

By Oluseyi Adedire Twitter/Instagram: @oyosportsnews FB: Oyo Sports Update The Oyo State Football Association under the chairmanship of Oba James Odeniran, the Alakinyele of Akinyele has announced plans to organise the first edition of 2024 Oyo State JDS Football League, sponsored by the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Chief Engineer Dotun Jubril Sanusi. In a blueprint message made available to OyoSportsNews by the association secretary, Mr Kehinde Adebayo Ojelowo. The league is strictly open to Nigeria Nation-wide League One and non-league players in Oyo state, while registration fees and tickets shall be free at the play-off stage. The statement explained further that matches at the playoff stage will hold across zones in Oyo state in an abridged format with ten clubs each in a group. The commitment was made on Saturday by the zonal council chairman, Coach Azeez Bashiru, in a meeting held the soun stadium, Ogbomoso. During the meeting, Coach Bashiru emphasised the critical roles of grassroot coaches, clubs and academies towards the development of fooball in Nigeria. With two solid friendly matches at the Remo Stars Stadium on Thursday and Friday against Beyond Limits Football Academy U15 and Super Accurate FC which they won 5-3 and lost 4-1 respectively. Eric as fondly called believed the players are readying themselves for competitive matches and big tournaments in the nearest future. Sports Manager of Ilaji Football Club, Coach Babatunde Odubola told OyoSportsNews that players between the ages 17 and 20 are qualified to attend free exercise billed to take at Ilaji FC football club at Oloyo village Akanran in Ibadan. Recall that the relaible goal poacher, who enjoyed his career Ilaji FC with over fifty goals; on November 2023 put pen to paper on a new deal with Slavia Prague, an agreement that will keep him until June 30, 2028. The competition, organized by Ogbomoso Community Youth Forum and supported by the Oyo state ministry of youth and sports, had 32 football teams being paired on a knock-out basis.
