OYO FA FIXES MAY 31ST FOR EXCOS ELECTIONS, RELEASES ELECTORAL GUIDELINES

The extraordinary congress of the Oyo State Football Association which took place on Monday, April 24, 2023 at the Sports Complex of Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan, Oyo State has announced that Wednesday, May 31st 2023 will be the date for elections into the executive board of the Association.
According to the electoral guidelines jointly signed by members of the electoral committee under the chairman, Abdulrahmon Abiola Ahmed Esq. Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort, Akanran, Ibadan will be the venue.
Delegates expected at the venue are Ibadan Local Football Council, Oyo Local Football Council, Ibadan Local Football Council, Ogbomoso Local Football Council, Oke Ogun Local Football Council and Ibarapa Local Football Council.
Others are, Nigeria Football Coaches Association (Oyo State Chapter), Oyo State (Football) Referees Council, Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeria National League, Women League and Player's Union.
According to Abdulrahmon Abiola Ahmed Esq, Elections for State Executive Committee shall composed of nine persons, three from each senetorial districts, Namely: the Chairman, Vice Chairman, and seven (7) ordinary members.
As stated clearly in the electoral guidelines, contestants vying for post of Chairman under the State Executive Committee can obtain nomination forms from the secretary of the electoral committee for N150,000.00 while prices for Vice Chairman and seven (7) ordinary members are N100,000.00 and N75,000.00 respectively. 

For anyone vying for the position of chairman to be declared winner, such contestant must have Two/Third (2/3) of the valid votes while contestant for Vice Chairman and seven (7) ordinary members shall be deemed to have won by simple majority of the valid votes.
Eligible contestant under the State Executive Committee must have been in active football management and/or administration for a continious period of not less than over two years before the election date.
According to the electoral guidelines, there are some changes as per the number of delegates expected to cast thier votes and prices for the nomination forms into Local Football Council and state. Seven delegates (Nigeria Football Coaches Association (Oyo State Chapter), Oyo State (Football) Referees Council, Nigeria Premier Football League, Nigeria National League, Women League and Player's Union) will take part In this election. A contestant for the Local Football Council Chairman, Vice Chairman and member seats shall be deemed to have won by simple majority of the valid votes.
Nomination forms for Chairman position is N50,000.00 while contestants can obtain forms for the position of Vice Chairman and member for N30,000.00 and N20,000.00 respectively.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Football Association second Extra Ordinary Congress held on 16th May, 2023 had officially and successfully amended its statues where Divisional Football Associations had been approved and renamed to Local Football Council. In view of this, we have the following: Ibadan Local Football Council (Instead of IFA), Oyo Local Football Council, Ogbomoso Local Football Council, Oke-Ogun Local Football Council and Ibarapa Local Football Council.
