I4-YEAR-OLD JSS TWO STUDENT CAUGHT PILFERING WIRES AND CABLES IN LEKAN SALAMI STADIUM

The security officers at the Lekan Salami Sports Complex, Adamasingba Ibadan have apprehended a 14 year old boy whose name is Sulaiman Abubakar for pilfering the wire and cables in the mainbowl of the stadium.
The Oyo state Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke disclosed this in Ibadan on Thursday.
Abubakar, a JSS 2 student of Eleyele High School in Ibadan disclosed that he gained entrance into the main-bowl during the training session of Shooting Star Football Club of Ibadan (3sc) yesterday evening adding that he slept in one of the room overnight after the security officers securely locked all entrances to the main-bowl.
Upon interrogations, the boy confirmed that he broke the pipes with a big stone to cut the camera cables and wires that connect the canopy light. He also admitted that he planned to sell it.
The Mother of the notorious boy who lives at Sabo Area was invited and she fainted when she saw her son being handcuffed.
It took the intervention of the stadium workers to revive her. When she later regained her consciousness she stated that the boy offended her the previous night and she penalised him.
The officers at the Stadium Police Post has transferred the case to the Mokola Police Station for further actions. The items stolen were estimated to  be Three hundred thousand (#300,000.00) Naira.
The Commissioner, after visiting the stadium for the on - the - spot assessment of the damage caused by the attempted theft, admonished members of the staff of the State Sports Council, the Landlords of the Stadium, to be more vigilant. 
She stressed that maintenance  of security at the stadiun is the responsibility of all stakeholders. The Commissioner however pledged that the state goverment will strengthen the security network of the sports complex to guide against future occurences.
Further reports from the Mokola Police Station where the boy is being detained revealed that he is expected to be arraigned in court for  theft and vandalisation of government properties on Friday.
