NPFL, NNL, NLO STARS UNITE TO CELEBRATE SUPER EAGLES PLAYER SODIQ ISMAIL IN OGBOMOSO

A host of Nigeria Premier Football League all-star team have been been announced to take on best selected players at the Nigeria National League and Nationwide League in a friendly match to celebrate Remo Stars player Sodiq Ismail, who was recently invited to the camp of Super Eagles for World Cup qualifiers by erstwhile Super Eagles head coach, Finidi George.
Sodiq Ismail, fondly called 'King of Assist' in the NPFL, joined Ojo Olorunleke of Enyimba FC in Eagles' camp and were part of the squad in Nigeria's 1-1 draw against Bafana Bafana of South Africa and 2-1 loss to Benin Republic.
The friendly match, sponsored by Eric Exchange and packaged by Aserere Jr is scheduled to come up Wednesday, June 26 at the Soun stadium, Ogbomoso, the game is geared towards promoting peace and unity and peaceful co-existence through dialogue and entertainment and ultimately to celebrate Sodiq Ismail.
According to the Chief Executive Officer/Chairman Eric Exchange, Mr Taiwo Oluwafemi Eric, Sodiq Ismail will be among the Nigeria Premier Football League players to don the shirt as they face players that featured for thier respective clubs at the Nigeria National League and Nationwide League.
Selection of former high-profile players listed to turn out in the game are Oladipo Kolawole [Kwara United], Muritala taiyo [Shooting Stars], Mutiu Olawale >Shooting Stars], Hammed Jimoh [Gombe United] Remo Stars captain Nduka Junior, Dayo Ojo [Remo Stars] Ogunribigbe Seun [Remo Stars], Sikiru Alimi [Remo Stars] Wnetu Clement [Sporting Lagos] and Sanni Nurudeen [Kwara United].
Others are; Oshomo Olamilekan [Akwa United], Nasir Afeez [Kwara United], Rafiu Taiwo [Sunshine stars], Wasiu Jimoh [Forest Rangers (Tanzania], Yussuf Taiwo Gombe United], Taiwo Awoniyi [Nottingham Forest, England], Abdulraheem Shola [Kwara United] and Seyi Okeowo [Bendel insurance].
Also in the list for NPFL All Stars are Adewale Adeyinka [Kwara United], Abbey Benson [Kwara United], Samson Paul [Kwara United], Jide Fatokun [Remo Stars], Adam Olamilekan [Remo Stars], Ndedi Henry [Sporting Lagos], Tobi Adeyi [Dragon FC, Benin Republic] , Hadi Haruna [Remo Stars], Jimoh Gbadamosi [Kwara United], Nasir Afeez [Kwara United] and Sunshine Stars duo, Rafiu Taiwo and Ibrahim Yussuf.
Facing them from the Nigeria National and Nationwide League will be a side featuring Oyekan Mutairu [Ogbomoso United], Shuaib Lanre [Malumfashi FC], Feriyaro Lanre [Gateway United], Feriyaro Ali [ABS FC] Aboh Erasmus [Crown FC], Aremu Segun [Shooting Stars B] Adekunle Majeed [Crown FC], Alagbe Timileyin [Crown FC], Ismail Samad [Ogbomoso United], and Rasheed Samad [Dynamic FC].
Oyeleke Oyetunde from Ogbomoso United also join the list alongside Fayojomi Femi [Crown FC], Olalere Dauda [Igbajo FC], Akanni Rahmon [Crown FC], Olalere Akeem [Osun United], Salaudeen Samad Ase [Ridyem FC], Ganiyu Mutiu [Osun United], Isaac Emmanuel [Ogbomoso United] and Akinwale Kamal [Crown FC].
Iwobi Nana also make the list from Turkey Stars with Sodiq Alamayo [ABS FC], Sile Ibrahim [Crown FC], Oladeji Joshua [Gateway United], Olaosebikan Yinka [Ogbomoso United] and Crown FC goalkeeper, Alebiosu Tunde.
Chief Executive Officer/Chairman of Eric Exchange, Mr Taiwo Oluwafemi Eric, in a chat with OyoSportsNews, said the football match is open to selected players, aimed at celebrating Sodiq Ismail's recent invitation to Nigeria natoinal team, Super Eagles. He added that the initiative is also to strengthen peace amongst players in Ogbomoso land through football.
He said, "It is important we celebrate our own son of the soil, Sodiq Ismail. He's one of our illustrious sons in Ogbomoso who is currently making us proud with Remo Stars FC. His goal contributions in the last three seasons were massive to the performance of the club on the league table in Nigeria league. We were excited for his invitation to the national team, because we see it as a reward for handwork. He has received our blessings, and we pray he shall continue to excel exceptionally in his career. He will captain the NPFL stars on Wednesday, 26th June at Soun stadium agaisnt NNL/NLO side. We want to welcome him home with a friendly match and also seize the opportunity to preach peace, unity, and let football lovers in Ogbomoso and it environs with it NPFL stars.
Also speaking to OyoSportsNews, Yekeen Rasheed Aserere Jr assured football fans of extraordinary live musical performances, presentation of awards and other side attractions that will add even more energy to the occasion.
