CANOEING: OYO PARA- ATHLETE WINS GOLD MEDALS

A 23 year old para Nigerian athlete from Oyo State, Olasupo Temitope Hassan, has won two gold medals at the First African Admiral Porbeni Canoeing Competition held at Jabi Boat Club, Abuja. The tournament involved five African countries, namely Senegal, Tunisia, Ghana, Sao Tome, and Nigeria.
Team Nigeria clinched the first position with 21 medals; 14 gold, 6 silver, and 1 bronze. Nigeria defeated Sao Tome, who came second while Tunisia secured the third position.
Recall that Olasupo Temitope Hassan grabbed two gold medals at the 2022 National Sports Festival in Asaba, Delta State. He will participate at the National Trial for the qualifying Olympics taking place in Germany, which is scheduled to commence on Thursday, August 17, 2023.
