VISUALLY IMPAIRED ATHLETE WINS GOLD AND SILVER MEDALS IN GOLD COAST

A visually impaired para-athlete from Oyo State, Oyindamola Tijani won gold and silver medals at the recently concluded CAC African Road and Paracycling Championship that took place in Accra Ghana.
During the competition, Tijani Oyindamola and his pilot, won gold medal and recorded 17. 8 kilometre individual time trial, Class B, tandems within the time of 29 minutes and 18 seconds.
Similarly, he also achieved 36km. Men's Road Race Class B, tandems which made him clinch Silver Medal within the time of 1 hour 3 minutes and 45 seconds.
Earlier, three Nigerian athletes, Victoria Lawal, Peace Olawale and Eze Ukpeseraye won three gold medals in various categories.
The first edition of the tournament which started on February 8 ended on February 17, 2023. 19 African countries actively in the competitions. It is an Olympic qualification championship.
