OYO CONDUCTS COMMON ENTRANCE EXAMINATION INTO FIVE GOVERNMENT TECHNICAL COLLEGES OCTOBER 15
The Oyo State Government has scheduled a unified Common Entrance Examination into the state's five co-educational Government Technical Colleges for Thursday, October 15, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m.
The Chairman of the Oyo State Board for Technical and Vocational Education (BOTAVED), Elder Adekola Ayoade, disclosed this on Thursday in Ibadan, urging parents and guardians to take advantage of the opportunity to enrol their children and wards in the technical institutions.
According to him, the examination will take place across the five Government Technical Colleges in the state: Government Technical College, Aperin, Ibadan; Government Technical College, Oyo; Government Technical College, Ogbomoso; Government Technical College, Iseyin; and Government Technical College, Saki.
Ayoade explained that application forms were available at the schools, advising interested parents and guardians to obtain the forms from their preferred institutions to register candidates for the examination.
He further stated that the examination would comprise three papers: Mathematics, English Language and General Engineering Knowledge. Candidates are expected to arrive at their designated Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres by 8:00 a.m. and present their National Identification Numbers (NIN).
The BOTAVED chairman cautioned candidates against examination malpractice, urging them to comply strictly with the rules and regulations guiding the exercise. He added that the examination would last three consecutive hours across the five centres.
Ayoade also announced that the results would be released on Friday, October 16, 2026, and displayed at the respective schools listed as candidates' first choices.
He reiterated the commitment of the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to repositioning and revitalising technical and vocational education in Oyo State, noting the importance of strengthening the sector to expand opportunities for skills acquisition and technical training among young people.
