GOV. ZULUM URGED TO HONOUR EL-KANEMI WARRIORS' HISTORIC FEDERATION CUP TRIUMPH

The Borno State Government, under the leadership of Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, has been urged to honour, reward and celebrate El-Kanemi Warriors team that won the club’s historic triumph in the President Federation Cup.
The Warriors defeated Ikorodu City FC 1-0 in the final played in July at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, to lift the prestigious trophy for a record fourth time. Their triumph came after a demanding campaign in which the team battled through challenges and difficulties to deliver another major honour to Borno State.
Two months after this huge achievements, the government is yet host niether the players or officials to a banquet to honour and reward them.
Governor Zulum who is known for his love and passion for sports and youth development is therefore being called upon to give the champions a befitting reception and reward the entire team. 
Every player and official who contributed to the success deserves recognition for playing their hearts out and representing Borno State with commitment, discipline and determination.
The call is further inspired by the gesture of the Nasarawa State Government, where Governor Abdullahi Sule rewarded Nasarawa Amazons with ₦40 million after their Federation Cup success. The government also provided new buses for Nasarawa United and the Amazons, rewarded the feeders team, State Football Association and supporters, while members of the victorious Amazons squad received additional personal gifts.
Borno State can equally use this historic achievement to demonstrate its appreciation for those who have brought honour to the state. A comprehensive reward for the players, coaching crew, technical staff, medical team, management and other officials who worked behind the scenes would serve as a powerful acknowledgement of the collective effort behind the trophy.
El-Kanemi Warriors have once again written their names into Borno’s football history. They have done the hard work, overcome difficulties and delivered the Federation Cup to the state. It is however important that Governor Umara Zulum to honour the champions and celebrate every player and official who made this historic fourth triumph possible.
