The Oluyole Warriors, after their qualification to round 32 early this morning without kicking the ball, following the refusal of Zamfara United FC to show up for the round of 64 fixture at the Area 3 field, Abuja have been expelled from the oldest football competition in Nigeria. In a letter signed by the director for competition, Ruth David, on behalf of the Nigeria Football Federation General Secretary. Five players who were not registered with the Nigeria Football Federation for this year edition were fielded in today's match against Zamfara United. The letter reads: "It has come to our attention that your club fielded five [5] ineligible players who are not registered with the NFF for this edition of the competition....

After a goalless first half, it was the Ajilete Warriors who went ahead through Nwaiwu Oyeka"s twenty-five minute after the break. The Ogbomoso based team doubled the tally from a calmly acrobatic kick from Seye Adegbite to put any nerves to rest in the 75th minute, ensuring that his team will face the winner between Shooting Stars and Oye Olohun FC nor Ilaji FC at the final.. The defender received the award on the pitch Friday moring at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, where there were few fans present at the stadium. It’s a well deserved – and much expected – award for the Ilaji Football Club product, who was outstanding in January under former Coach Gabriel Ezema. Adebisi Olamikun Timileyin who joined Inter Lagos FC on loan from Ilaji FC won the Player of Month award ahead of Abubakar Shuaibu.
