In a show of solidarity in Oyo state, Nigeria, Splash FM and Lagelu FM Ace Sportscaster Olawale Hamzat fondly called Top Striker alongside his friends, colleagues, family, and Jekanmo Fan Family most especially in the round leather game have concluded plans to stage a peaceful protest against racism and discrimination following the incident of TikTok video involving Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.Osimhen was mocked by Napoli in a TikTok video posted earlier this week after he missed a penalty in the 0-0 draw at Bologna on last Sunday.
The 24-year-old snubbed a number of his teammates on his arrival at the team’s hotel before Napoli’s Serie A mid-week 4-1 win over Udinese and was on target in 4-0 win against Lecce on Saturday at the 6th minute after he was brought in to replace Giovanni Simeone at the 46th minute.
The Nigeria relaible goal poacher reacted by deleting all Napoli’s pictures and videos from his social media handles with his agent threatening to take legal action against the club.
Although the Serie A champions later released a statement on Thursday evening, where they claim that Victor Osimhen is a treasure to the club.
Top Striker, a yoruba sportscaster believed what had happened to Osimhen is nothing but a clear display of racism and discrimination.
According to Olawale Hamzat, the peaceful protest is billed for tomorrow, Monday, 2nd October, 2023 within Ibadan while willing participants are expected to wear white and/or green T-shirt in fight against Nigerians and other Africans facing the hate crimes.
In a chat with OyoSportsNews, the award winning sportscaster explained: "By tomorrow 8am, we shall be meeting at the Splash FM office, felele, Ibadan as we plan a peaceful protest within Ibadan in campaign against racism and discrimination."
"Racism is a very difficult topic for FIFA and they have made efforts to put an end to any form of discrimination and racism. It is unfortunate this is coming from the club official TikTok account, as we await his agent to take legal action we can't keep quiet with the way our own blood and fellow Nigeria is being harrased and dragged to the mud. He's done well and ready to do more for Napoli and any club but this must stop."
"Green and/or white T-shirt is the dress code, we'll tour round Felele, ring road, challenge, molete and liberty road. It is a peaceful movement, no form of violence." He added
Recall that Osimhen scored a goal and provided an assist in Napoli’s 4-1 win against Udinese on Wednesday night. He has scored four goals in six league appearances for the Partenopei this season. The striker was top scorer in Serie A last season with 26 goals in 32 appearances.
