A first half goal by Meshack Dennis sealed a much needed victory for Crown FC of Ogbomoso against Joy Cometh FC of Lagos in a Nigeria National League matchday three clash at Soun stadium on Saturday.
Meshack met Ogunjobi Kamoru’s cross shortly after the half-hour as the Ajilete Warriors continued their winning run after a 2-1 win over Sporting Lagos last weekend.
The former Warri Wolves striker should have doubled Crown FC’s advantage but could only flash a header wide from close range from Elijah Oyetoro ’s cross in the 64th minute.
However, as the visitors threatened to run riot towards the end of the match but the homers stood their ground until the final whistle.
Speaking to OyoSportsNews at the post-match interview, Joy Cometh FC Head Coach Babatunde Oguntuwaye believed his boys played very well and to instructions during the encounter. He's confident that the team will get it right in their next fixture against Gateway United next weekend.
