ZONAL ELIMINATION: TEAM OYO CLINCHED FIRST POSITION IN SIX SPORTS

Team Oyo secured first position in six Sports at the Zonal Elimination for Ball Games organised for the six South Western States held at the Ilaji Sports Resorts, Akanran in Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State.
The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth & Sports, Hon Wasilat Adegoke in chat with newsmen disclosed that the Oyo State Government athletes will feature in Hockey (Male), Cricket ( Male), Beach Volleyball ( Male & Female), Abula ( Female) and Volleyball (Female).
The pace setter state clinched second position in six ball games during the keenly contested zonal elimination Glgames, namely; Abula (Male), Basketball (Male), Cricket (Female), Handball (Female),bVolleyball (Male), and Hockey (Fem
 The Commissioner remarked further that the athletes should not relent in their efforts to train vigorously adding that the government will provide an enabling environment coupled with all the necessary equipments that will make them to excel in the subsequent tournament especially in the forthcoming National Sports Festival tagged 'Gateway 2025' holding in May this year.
 She commended Team Oyo for picking six qualification tickets in Blball games. The National Sports Festival is billed to hold in 16th to 30th May, 2025 at Babcock University, Ilisan Remo, Ogun State. Not fewer than thirty six (36) Sports will be contested for at the bi-annual Sports Festival.

The delegation made up of 10 players and three officials left the shores of Nigeria via a flight from the international wing of the Muritala Mohammad Airport on Tuesday for Lisbon.
