OYOKUN 2021: Wesley Ambassadors Emerge New Champion

Wesley Ambassadors All stars have emerged the new champion of the fourth edition of the first and ever Oyo state adult football competition tagged Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship. The Elekuro based team defeated United Professionals by alone goal courtesy of Fadaiya's solo kick at the 29th minutes.

Earlier before the final match, Urban Day All Stars also pipped Ibadan City All Stars (ICAS) by 1-0 at the loosers final.




With this result, Wesley Ambassadors have ended Pace setters' three years back to back champion as the defending champion.

Also at the final event, awards for recognition were given to notable sports lovers in Oyo state. CEO of Stone Cafe, Asiwaju Segun Olalere was decorated as the Chief Patron while Engr Ayo Adeniji of AY Farms and Ambassador Romoke Ayinde, the CEO of Kayromlee Gym and fitness centre were also decorated as the Patron and Chief Matron respectively. Hon. Olaniyan Babatunde was wss recognized for his untiring support since the inception of Oyokun Diplomatic Football Championship. 

Individual awards were are given to top scorers, most valuable player, best coach and goalkeeper of the championship 

Speaking at the event, CEO, Splendid Media Concept and A seasoned journalist, Obadare Oladosu pointed out that the competition shall continue to improve, and serve it primary purposes which is to keep aged and retired sports men and women fit in the state and beyond. He noted that the awardees were honoured for their efforts in sports development and active interest in the state.

Also decorated at the event were, Abass Alogo, Ishola ABIODUN, Erinfolami Blocks and host of others.
